What is an Add-On?

An Add-on is an Extra service/product that you can offer to your guests as part of the booking. These Add-Ons increase your ABV (Average Booking Value) and in effect, your direct sales. 

Selling Add-Ons differentiate your direct sales versus an OTA. Offering Add-Ons on your official website will add value to your bookings and will make your customer's stay more enjoyable.

What can I do with an Add-On? 

Your guests have an option to add extra services/products to their booking at an extra charge. Add-ons can be applied to all rooms and offers or selected room types and offers. They can be set up as closed by default and only open on certain dates (e.g Valentine's Dinner) or open by default. We can also set up a maximum number of add-ons per booking.

You can: 

  • For example apply an Add-On for a sea view because your superior rooms offer this option, or perhaps offer a baby cot. It depends on what your hotel is currently offering.
  • Apply an Add-On to any package type. This means you can choose where you wish to apply your Add-Ons (e.g. To a specific room or a specific package).
  • Group Add-ons into categories for easy navigation. For example in room Add-ons, activities etc.
  • Set up free add-on, meaning set the price at 0€.

Who can create an Add-On? 

Add-Ons are created by Bookassist. If you want to create an Add-On, please be sure to send all of the relevant details required:

  • Price Description (If the price is per service, person, etc.)

How do I manage an Add-On? 

Add-Ons can be managed within the Extranet. There, you are able to open and close them. E.g. You can have Add-Ons open only during the weekend, or maybe during specific occasions. 

You can also deactivate any Add-On you want through the Extranet. 

Why are Add-Ons good for my hotel? 

As we said at the beginning of this article, Add-Ons are a good way to increase your ABV. It can provide the booker with a better experience. 

For you as a hotel, it's beneficial because your client won't be booking via an OTA, but rather on your official website. 

For your clients, it means that they can discover services that are exclusive to your website, and  ones they will never find anywhere else.
