DNS Configuration for Booking Confirmation - SPF Set Up

If your clients have difficulties to receive Bookassist booking confirmation. Please read and follow all instructions below.

Because of the way Bookassist sends the Confirmation Emails to the customers, a hotel would need to set bookassist.com as an authorized domain to send emails on its own domain behalf.

Changing SPF Domain Record

This is how an empty SPF record looks like:

Screenshot 2022-03-30 at 11.51.13

SPF line:

v=spf1 -all

Bookassist domain has to be included on that line so it will looks like this:

v=spf1 include:_spf.bookassist.com -all

➡️ Usually, your SPF line won’t be empty as the one in the example above, it might have already some other domains added, this is very common when using some external email providers like Outlook or Gmail.

Please see an example on how an existing SPF record could look for a domain using Outlook as email provider:

v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com -all

And how the bookassist.com domain needs to be added in this case (keeping the existing setup)

v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com include:_spf.bookassist.com -all
