What can I do with Alternative Accommodation?
The feature Alternative Accommodation or Alternative Hotel allows you to offer bookings at another hotel in your group during the same period. If your hotel is full and your customer cannot change their arrival, the system can offer them with what we call "Alternative Accommodation".
➡️ Alternative Accommodation can only be used if both hotels use the Bookassist Booking Engine.
Who can add Alternative Accommodation?
Alternative Accommodation is set up by Bookassist staff either during the creation of your hotel or at a later date when more hotels from your group start using the Bookassist Booking Engine. However, it doesn't necessarily need to be a hotel that is part of your group. It can be also be a hotel that you know that also has the Bookassist Booking Engine!
How will Alternative Accommodation appear on the Booking Engine?
Alternative Accommodation will appear at the top of your Booking Engine via a card :
This card will show the best price available for the same date, your client is looking for.
The address will appear on the card and your client will be able to see the distance between the first hotel they were browsing and the Alternative Accommodation that is presented.
You can display 1, 2 or even 10 items of Alternative Accommodation, as long as they are also using Bookassist Booking Engine.
Why is Alternative Accommodation good for my hotel?
Offering Alternative Accommodation can help greatly with booking abandonment. This upselling feature suggests alternative options for the same dates your client is searching for.
Furthermore, cross selling between your properties will provide you with more added value and additional selling opportunities.
